Design Devlog #1

-What were your team's goals for the past couple weeks? (regarding your area of expertise)

For the design portion of the game I wanted to establish the look of the while creating a paper prototype to some what explain the game and the core mechanics.

-How did you work towards accomplishing those goals?

I completed the paper prototype and established that we as a team will be going with a low poly look for the game.

-Did you?

Yes.

-What has your process been?

I have been looking at low poly packages in unity for inspiration and will be looking for tutorials for creating a low poly look in unity.

-What are your goals for the next week? (regarding your area of expertise)

To have a level layout for the game with the low poly look.

-How will you go about accomplishing those goals?

Research how to create low poly looks in unity and have a color scheme for the game. Which will have darker tones like blacks, browns and grays.

-Playtesting Report

We wanted to explain the core mechanics and some of the things we want to implement in the game.

-What were you playtesting?

We play tested a paper prototype for the game "Hunted".

-What did you want to learn?

Wanted to learn if the game was interesting enough to play and per some feed back the game was somewhat simplistic and so back to the drawing board with some of the feed back we received.

-Who were your playtesters?

Classmates and Professor.

-What did you observe?

How the game can become better.

-What feedback did you receive?

The feedback had some great ideas that we can implement in the game to make it more interesting. Some suggest we add a progression bar to see how far you are from the goal and changing the environment from a forrest/woods look to a more old city look to adding clouds that can cast a shadow.

-What, if anything, will you do with that feedback?

I plan to use the feedback to make the game better and more interesting for the players to enjoy when they play.
